Erika Wolf, DVM | Veterinarian & Owner

Dr. Erika Wolf has always known two things: her heart belongs to animals—and to Knoxville, TN. A devoted advocate for pet wellness, Dr. Wolf has spent over a decade caring for the community she calls home. Her longtime dream of opening a uniquely welcoming practice in the heart of the city has come to life with Downtown Knoxville Veterinary, where she’s reimagining what veterinary care can feel like.

Dr. Wolf earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee before completing her veterinary training at St. George’s University in 2013. Since then, her career has been rooted in compassionate care, thoughtful medicine, and meaningful client relationships.

Her approach is inspired by the Japanese concept of ikigai—the idea that purpose is found where passion, skill, and service intersect. For Dr. Wolf, that purpose is clear: helping pets live longer, healthier lives while supporting the people who love them. Every patient is treated not just as a medical case, but as a cherished family member. Her calm presence, clear communication, and collaborative style help ensure every visit is a positive experience—for pets and their people alike.

From preventive care to chronic condition management, and even the most tender goodbyes, Dr. Wolf is known for her steady compassion and her commitment to creating lasting, trust-based partnerships with her clients.

She lives downtown with her husband, son, two dogs, and two cats. Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find her enjoying Knoxville’s vibrant food and music scene, spending time with loved ones, or recharging in nature. Dr. Wolf is honored to serve the city she loves—and can’t wait to welcome you and your pet to Downtown Knoxville Veterinary.

Ryan Estabrooks | Co-Owner of DKV

Originally from Tullahoma, TN, Ryan Estabrooks moved to Knoxville in 2001 to study engineering at The University of Tennessee. A civil engineer by profession, Ryan is no stranger to building things from the ground up—and this clinic is no exception. He brings a unique blend of behind-the-scenes support and heartfelt dedication to Downtown Knoxville Veterinary.

As co-owner, Ryan plays an integral role in the day-to-day operations and long-term vision of the practice. While he may not wear a stethoscope, his steady hand, problem-solving mindset, close attention to detail and love for animals have been essential in turning a shared dream into reality. His passion lies in creating a space where people and pets feel at ease, and where the care goes far beyond medicine.

Ryan’s most important role, however, is being the biggest supporter of his wife, Dr. Erika Wolf. From the very beginning, he believed in her vision of a warm, community-focused veterinary practice, and he’s proud to stand beside her—both in life and in business.

When he’s not helping run the clinic or working in his field of engineering, you’ll find Ryan snowboarding in the winter, wake surfing in the summer, or enjoying a hike with the family year-round.

Together, Ryan and Dr. Wolf are committed to building something meaningful and special—rooted in family values and community.
